THERMAL COMPARISON OF STRUCTURAL INSULATED PANELS

These images identify the improved thermal conditions within the Black Rock Estates Timber Frame home. They show a comparison between our use of SIP panel construction, log construction and conventional 2 x 6 wood frame construction with fiberglass batt insulation.

The pictures indicate cooler areas in log and conventional frame construction. This is evident by the darker areas at all log joints, wood framing components and poor fitting insulation, which is typical of standard construction. Improved overall insulation is evident in the well-sealed SIP panel system.
